Lisa's Retro Bridal Shower!

Here are the photos that I promised! A while back I posted my inspiration board for a vintage, retro housewife themed bridal shower that I was planning for my darling sister. The party went off just like I imagined it and everyone had a fabulous time.

A Retro Bridal Shower

For Lisa's Bridal shower I thought it only fitting to go for a retro theme! Why hold a typical boring luncheon when adding a bit of kitsch can make a wedding shower so much more fun. The invitations were a collage of vintage housewife illustrations that I sent out along with a recipe card for each guest to fill out. The menu will feature some classics & I will be creating a sweet table that with feature 50's goodies: bundt cakes, soda shop cupcakes, mini pies and cookies. Of course we will have vintage colas, mimosas & a spiked punch! In all honesty this might just be an excuse to break out a full skirt dress. Cant wait to share photos!

sweet things

Due to Lisa's approaching nuptials and our eagerness for all things diy, we have been scrounging around for vintage cake stands everywhere. Planing a huge sweet table is quite the undertaking, but we have been finding some perfect pedestals & are still on the look out for more of these candy colored confections.
